4 Short Courses. This event is for the public and part of the Junior Orienteering Series (JOS).
Don't forget -- YOU WILL NEED A WILDERNESS PASS! The day pass can be purchased onsite for $5 or you can purchase
an annual pass at the Pine Valley gas station for $30.
There is a 500m walk to start (with 35m climb) and 200m walk from finish to the parking lot.
Courses are very runnable, but there are rose patches at places. We recommend gators or reinforced socks for people who intent
to run fast through them. Footing is mostly good with some pines needle covered slippery spots and some soft ground spots.
Due to the length of the courses, there will not be water out on the course, except for the Red course. For those who
expect to proceed slowly, we recommend carry some water with you, as the weather could be hot.
The courses are designed and flagged out there, but we are still in need of a vetter, meet director, help with control/water placement,
control pickup, and help with start, finish and registration. If you can help, please sign up to volunteer.
You can volunteer AND participate.
